Jamie Duggan
CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGIST
My Practice.
I'm a licensed psychologist and a graduate of the School/Applied Child Psychology program at McGill University. My clinical and research interests include emotion regulation, body image, self-harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, and depression among adolescents and young adults. Over the past decade, I've worked in various clinical settings, including hospitals, specialized educational environments, and private clinics throughout Montréal. I'm experienced in cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural skills training, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I aim to integrate my passion for the mind-body connection into every aspect of my work.
Therapeutic Approaches & Focuses
I work with clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, body image concerns, self-esteem, parenting, and relationship issues. My approach integrates CBT, DBT, ACT, and mind–body connection work, always grounded in empathy and collaboration. With a PhD in School and Applied Child Psychology, yoga teacher training, and authorship of Let’s Go Surfing!, I strive to help clients build resilience and emotional well-being.
I feel incredibly grateful to do the work I do and consider it a true privilege to be part of the mental health field. I chose to become a child and adolescent psychologist because I'm continually inspired by the resilience of young people and the amazing capacity for growth in both the human body and mind. Witnessing children, teens, and families navigate challenges - and still find ways to heal, reconnect, and thrive - moves me deeply. When I need to reset, you'll usually find me surrounded by dog cuddles, spending quiet time in nature, or grounding myself on my yoga mat. A fun fact about me: I completed my yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia in 2020, an experience that felt truly magical, and I hope to return one day soon.
