Shayne Itzkovitz
CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
My Practice.
I am a dedicated mental health counsellor passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward emotional well-being. I hold an Honours Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am committed to providing a compassionate, understanding, and client-centered approach to therapy. Guided by the belief that “Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself,” I help clients cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful change. My goal is to create a warm and supportive space where you can explore challenges, build emotional strength, and move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Therapeutic Approaches & Focuses
I work with clients navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, body image, vocational and work-related stress, interpersonal challenges, and identity exploration. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and emotion regulation techniques. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you can feel understood, explore challenges, and build the tools needed to foster resilience and personal growth.
I became a therapist because I've always been curious about the inner world of others - the thoughts, untold stories, and unspoken emotions that shape who we are. I feel honoured to hold space for people as they work through pain, rediscover their strength, and learn to move through life with more ease and authenticity. For me, being a therapist isn't about having all the answers, but about walking alongside someone as they find their own. When I need to reset, I like to unplug - sometimes mentally, sometimes literally. A quiet walk, a comfort show, journaling, or simply doing nothing gives me the space to breathe, pause, and come back feeling more like myself.
